Job summary

V2X is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee shop activities for aircraft and related equipment under an RDT&E program. You will guide day‑to‑day tasks, schedule work, ensure safe, compliant operations with a capable team, and apply technical knowledge to solve complex maintenance challenges.

Required: high school diploma, six years in aircraft maintenance, and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or trade license preferred.
  • Six years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Knowledge of F/A-18F, T-38, T-6, AT-6, NU-1B, U-6, X-26 preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a shop or group on maintenance tasks for rotary and fixed wing aircraft.
  • Interpret blueprints and manuals to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

Supervises a shop or group with day-to-day maintenance tasks on assigned rotary and fixed wing aircraft, equipment and machinery under an RDT&E program. Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and supervises activities of personnel, determining and directing specific work assignments.
  • Assists in the operations of the maintenance departments per the COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series.
  • Ensures full and effective employment of assigned personnel.
  • Ensures all work is scheduled and performed in a safe and efficient manner
  • Responsible for compliance of special programs as assigned. Ensures direct reports are fully compliant with all approved procedures.
  • Ensures all direct reports and maintenance employees receive job and safety training.
  • Identifies material and special tooling needs to accomplish the daily work assignment.
  • Provides employees with proper training on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Provide technical training and assistance as needed.
  • May lead and direct a group of two or more individuals.
  • Comply with all current sections of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series applicable to aircraftmaintenance and ALSS.
  • Working knowledge of technical publications, NAMP and NALCOMIS aircraft maintenanceapplications.

  • Perform other job related duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of Safe working techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to plan and schedule maintenance work requirements.
  • Requires working technical knowledge of aircraft, machinery, facilities, and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude in order to offer technical direction in all maintenance areas.
  • Understand technical language terms in associated field.
  • Ability to interact effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Must have full knowledge of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series and the RDT&E community.
  • Knowledge of military publications, drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams, and schematics is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work requirements.
  • Working knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Possess a valid US State driver's license.
  • Ability to read and interpret data is required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to obtain a government flight line driver’s license.

Experience & Education:

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree or trade license preferred.
  • Six (6) years of experience in the aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance on the following T/M/S is preferred; F/A-18F, T-38, T-6, AT-6, NU-1B, U-6 and X-26.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level clearance.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
  • May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
  • May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, APU, etc.

Travel:

  • May vary by location. Up to 10% of the year

  • The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company’s base pay compensation for locations in the state of Maryland and may be modified at the discretion of the company.
