Job summary

V2X, Inc. in Maryland is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Support Technician to maintain schedules and support flight line operations. This CBA position requires compliance with maintenance instructions and safe handling of materials and tools.

The role involves assisting mechanics, performing routine maintenance tasks, and adhering to safety standards while potentially working in hangar or outdoors. A high school diploma and DoD secret clearance are required or obtainable.

• Must be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
• Comply with all current sections of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series applicable to aircraft maintenance and ALSS.
• Furnish materials, tools and supplies to mechanic and assist during operation.
• Clean and maintain work areas, equipment and tools.
• Inflate tires, fill gasoline and oil reservoirs, grease equipment.
• Assist flight line mechanic in servicing and repairing equipment.
• Perform other job related duties as may be assigned

Responsibilities

This is a CBA(Collective Bargaining Agreement) position.

Principal Accountabilities

• Prioritizes workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
• Comply with all current sections of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series applicable to aircraft maintenance and ALSS.
• Performs routine duties such as furnishing materials, tools and supplies to mechanic, lifting and holdingmaterials in place during operation; cleaning work areas and machines, tools, and equipment.
• Cleans support equipment, interior and exterior parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions.
• Inflates tires, fills gasoline tanks and oil reservoirs, and greases support equipment, using grease gun.
• May assist flight line mechanic in servicing and repairing support equipment prior to use.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Possess a valid US State driver's license.
• Ability to read and interpret data is required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to obtain a Government flight line driver’s license.

Experience & Education

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years relevant experience performing or assisting functional duties under the oversite of more senior positions and one year experience performing functional duties independently.
• Completion of specialized courses in aircraft structural repair is desired.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level clearance.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
• May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weatherconditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
• May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
• May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work nearmoving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
• Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
• Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
• Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reachabove/below shoulders.
• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
• Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
• Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
• Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
• May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift,APU, etc.

    • USD $38.90
  • Union Flex Benefit Credit:
