Job description

The TPR EMR Coach, under the direct supervision of the Market Clinical Informatics Manager and according to established policies and procedures, functions as a clinical application expert. The primary responsibility is to train TPR office staff to efficiently use clinical applications, including but not limited to Athena, Dragon, Medi-Mobile, and Collector. The TPR EMR Coach provides proactive, at-the-elbow support to clinic staff and conducts purposeful clinic rounding to support providers and staff in integrating clinical applications into workflows. The coach ensures consistent and effective application use aligned with policies, procedures, and standards. Occasionally, the coach may create educational content to communicate and educate providers and staff. Regularly, the coach gathers feedback from physicians, clinicians, and office staff, communicating insights to the Market Clinical Informatics Director.

The TPR EMR Coach collaborates with the Market Clinical Informatics Manager to enhance physician and clinician satisfaction with clinical applications, promote the 'voice of the customer,' and improve IS service and support.

Must be in or able to commute to the Market daily.

Travel requirements include up to 25% outside the market and 75% within the market. An MVR check on the final candidate is required due to travel responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Onsite onboarding and training of physicians and support staff (PSR, MA, referral staff, biller, coder, and PM) in outpatient offices on Athena, Patient Portal, Phreesia, MediMobile, Dragon dictation, and Virtual Visits.
  2. Supporting systems implementation, including analysis, design, configuration, testing, and support activities.
  3. Reviewing and sharing new system release information with stakeholders, testing, and ensuring features comply with Tenet policies.
  4. Providing recommendations on requests related to EHR workflows and functionality weekly onsite.
  5. Assisting with custom template development, scheduling templates, EPCS setup, HIE requests, TAO, and practice role requests.
  6. Proactively scheduling onsite clinic visits to assess system adoption and address issues from clinic staff.
  7. Creating and submitting visit reports to leadership.
  8. Monitoring end-user reports to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  9. Processing TenetOne tickets, including patient merges, training requests, and offboarding.
  10. Conducting new hire CSS orientation.
  11. Creating and reviewing educational materials regularly.

Qualifications include:

  • At least one year of experience in ambulatory clinical settings such as physician clinics or outpatient settings.
  • At least one year of prior experience with clinical information systems.
  • Experience with Athena preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and collaborate with clinicians.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Understanding of clinical workflows and integrating technology into clinical practice.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate credibility, professionalism, and customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
