Job summary

ICF seeks a Toxicologist to join our SPHERE team, supporting environmental health at CDC and ATSDR in Atlanta, GA. The role applies toxicology and risk assessment to evaluate health risks from hazardous chemicals, analyze metabolic interactions, and review data from contaminated sites.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in toxicology or related field with at least 2 years of environmental health toxicology experience.
• Or Master’s in toxicology, environmental science, or related subject with at least 6 years of related experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required per Federal contract.
• Ability to obtain Federal government security clearance.
• Ability to travel for site visits, public meetings, or other project needs.

Responsibilities

• Apply toxicology and risk assessment principles to public health implications of hazardous chemicals.
• Assess metabolic pathway interactions of metals, solvents, vapors, and other contaminants.
• Support analysis of toxicological and environmental data from hazardous waste sites.
• Evaluate data for QA/QC, completeness, and relevance.
• Provide expert assessments and recommendations for health consultations and public health impacts.
• Offer technical assistance and recommendations on potential health impacts.
• Assist with development of health assessments.
• Attend technical assistance site visits and public meetings.
