Job description

Toxic Tort Litigation Attorney – New York - Remote

An established national law firm is looking to add an experienced Litigation Attorney to its Toxic Tort practice in New York. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a general liability background who either already has toxic tort experience or is interested in developing further within this specialist area.

The firm has a substantial national litigation platform and represents a sophisticated client base in complex, high-value disputes. Attorneys joining the team can expect meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure and the opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators on technically challenging matters.

The successful attorney will have a minimum of 3+ years of litigation experience, ideally involving toxic tort matters. However, attorneys coming from a strong general liability or broader defense litigation background are also encouraged to explore the opportunity.

The position offers genuinely hands-on litigation experience. The attorney will be involved in taking and defending depositions, substantive motion practice, legal research and analysis, case strategy and trial preparation, with opportunities to act as lead or second counsel as their experience allows.

What they’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of litigation experience
  • General liability experience required; toxic tort experience preferred
  • Admitted to practice in New York
  • New Jersey admission is advantageous, but not required
  • Strong deposition and motion practice experience
  • Trial or significant trial preparation experience is highly valued
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical and research skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Judicial clerkship and/or Law Review experience is particularly welcomed
  • Ability to take meaningful ownership of matters and work effectively within a wider litigation team

Why consider it?

This is a strong opportunity for an attorney looking to build or further develop a practice in toxic tort litigation while benefiting from the resources and stability of an established national platform.

The practice combines sophisticated litigation with meaningful responsibility. Attorneys have the opportunity to develop client relationships, take an active role in depositions and motion practice, and gain further exposure to trials and complex case strategy.

The firm also places a strong emphasis on professional development, collaboration and creating long-term career opportunities for its attorneys.

The package includes competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and eligibility for both discretionary and performance-based bonuses, alongside additional financial benefits.
