Job summary

Bernards Township is seeking an experienced Township Planner to review land development applications, prepare reports and zoning updates, and serve as staff for the Planning and Zoning Boards. The incumbent will attend all meetings and supervise the Zoning Officer and Planning/Zoning Board Secretary.

Requirements include a degree in land use planning or urban planning from a 4-year college, 5-7 years of supervisory experience in land use planning, NJ Professional Planner (NJPP) certification,

Qualifications

• Degree in land use planning, urban planning, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in land use planning including supervisory experience.
• Certification as a licensed Professional Planner in NJ (NJPP) required; AICP preferred.
• Must possess a valid NJ driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review all land development applications and prepare reports, plan updates, and zoning ordinances.
• Serve as staff for the Planning and Zoning Boards and attend all meetings.
