Job summary

Betacom-Incorporated is seeking a Full-time Tower Technician in Charlotte, NC to lead and assist in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications towers and related equipment.

The role requires climbing tall structures, following safety protocols, and performing regular inspections. You will work irregular hours, travel frequently, and operate in challenging weather conditions while supporting RF systems and antenna installations.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years industry experience.
• Good communications skills, reading and writing (English).
• Ability to lift over 70 pounds.
• Clean driving record & valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to work.

Responsibilities

• Climbs and works on communications towers to install, replace, and repair antennas and equipment.
• Handle basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and estimating JSA’s.
• Ensure safety hazards are recognized and work in a safe manner.
• Maintain tidy work area and follow OSHA regulations.

OVERVIEW:

Leads and assists in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communications towers and support structures and related telecommunications equipment. Leads by example to facilitate timely job completion. Tower Technicians work irregular hours, travel frequently, and work at great heights in extreme weather conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Climbsandworksoncommunicationstowersforthepurposeofinstalling,replacing,andrepairingantennasystemsequipment.Doesnotrequireclosesupervision.
• Thebasicuseandcareofhandtoolsandmechanicalequipment.
• CompletesrequireddailyJobSafetyAnalysis’(JSA’s).
• Knowsthe hazardsassociatedwithtowerclimbing,constructionequipment,andworkingonor nearenergizedlinesand equipment.
• Theabilitytoclimbtallstructures(100 feetormore)with50lb.load.
• Analyzessituationsaccuratelyandadoptsanappropriatecourseofaction.
• Communicatesorallyandinwriting.
• Followsinstructionsaccuratelyandcompleteassignedcourse ofaction.
• Recognizessafetyhazards andperformsdutiesinasafemanner.
