Job summary

Celnet is seeking an experienced Tower Foreman to lead a crew of up to six and oversee safe, efficient completion of wireless tower construction, maintenance, upgrades, and related field activities.

This role requires strong leadership, a commitment to safety, and experience on wireless communication sites with the ability to travel and work varying shifts.

Qualifications

Job description

Celnet is seeking an experienced Tower Foreman to join our growing wireless communications team. The Tower Foreman will lead a crew of up to six team members and oversee the safe and efficient completion of wireless tower construction, maintenance, upgrades, and related field activities.

This position is ideal for an experienced tower professional with strong leadership skills, a commitment to safety, and experience working on wireless communication sites.

Location: South Texas

Schedule: 10-hour or 12-hour shifts

Work Location: On the Road / Travel Required

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and mentor a crew of up to 6 team members.
• Safely perform and oversee tower climbing, installation, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
• Work at heights of 300 feet or higher as required.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, ANSI, customer requirements, and company safety policies.
• Conduct pre-work and post-work site audits and maintain required documentation and photos.
• Read and interpret customer blueprints, drawings, and scopes of work.
• Perform wireless network installations, modifications, upgrades, maintenance, and capacity expansions.
• Work on new tower installations, modifications, microwave systems, antennas, radios, mounts, cabling, and related equipment.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot wireless communication equipment and cabling.
• Assist with tower erection, decommissioning, mounts, booms, foundations, conduit, excavation/trenching, and related construction activities.
• Perform site inspections and support FAA lighting systems and other wireless infrastructure.
• Operate applicable test equipment, including RF sweep, PIM, and fiber-testing equipment.
• Train and develop team members on safe work practices and proper installation procedures.
• Maintain proper use and care of company vehicles, tools, credit cards, equipment, and other assigned assets.
• Complete assigned work accurately, safely, and within required timelines.
• Maintain a professional, safety-focused, and customer-focused work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Current NWSA certification – REQUIRED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum 5 years of tower climbing experience or equivalent experience working in elevated conditions.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the wireless communications industry preferred.
• Current authorized tower climber or competent climber and rescue certification.
• Ability to safely work at heights of 300+ feet.
• Experience with wireless carriers such as T-Mobile, Verizon, UScellular, Sprint, or similar.
• Experience installing and maintaining: Antennas, Microwave dishes, RF equipment, Radios, Coax/fiber cabling, Tower mounts and booms, New tower builds and modifications, FAA lighting systems.
• Knowledge of wireless construction, maintenance, and site upgrade processes.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings, and customer scopes of work.
• Strong knowledge of applicable OSHA, ANSI, and industry safety requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively lead a field crew.
• Ability to travel extensively and work a flexible schedule.
• Willingness to complete a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with tower assembly, erection, installation, modification, and decommissioning.
• Experience with excavation, trenching, conduit, concrete, and rebar foundations.
• Basic electrical knowledge, including familiarity with NEC requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Experience with RF sweep, PIM, and fiber testing equipment.
• Knowledge of basic project costing and accounting practices.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Previous experience as a Tower Foreman, Tower Lead, or similar leadership role.

Physical & Working Requirements:

The Tower Foreman must be able to perform physically demanding work in various outdoor and industrial environments.

The position may require the ability to:

• Climb towers, ladders, stairs, and other elevated structures for extended periods.
• Walk, crawl, kneel, bend, reach, and work with hands and tools.
• Sit or stand for extended periods.
• Lift and move up to 75 pounds.
• Work at elevated heights and at industrial or underground locations.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Wear required PPE and safety equipment, including safety-toe/metatarsal footwear, hard hat, fall-protection equipment, FR clothing, eye protection, and other required PPE.
• Follow all applicable OSHA, MSHA, ANSI, customer, and company safety requirements.
