Job summary

Maxim Crane Works, L.P. in Jessup, Maryland is seeking a Tower Crane Technician to inspect, troubleshoot and repair tower crane systems. You will provide expert technical support during erection, dismantling, and climbing operations and work at customer sites or the yard as required.

The role requires 2+ years in industrial maintenance and 480V/3-phase motor controls experience, plus strong knowledge of crane operations. CDL, NCCO, and TWIC are highly regarded; drug/background checks may apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates or vocational degree preferred.
• Tower Crane certifications strongly preferred.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• NCCO Certification and TWIC card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visit customer sites to perform crane inspections and repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical schematics.
• Service and repair equipment at the yard prior to erection.
• Provide expert technical assistance during erections, dismantles and climbs.
• Read and follow electrical schematics during troubleshooting procedures.
• Review operations manuals for all equipment.
• Use computer to program PLCs and ancillary equipment.
• Respond to emergency calls and complete reports promptly.
• Perform unplanned/emergency work as needed.
