Job summary

Marquette Transportation Company seeks an experienced Captain to lead a towing vessel crew along inland waterways. You will oversee safe operations, ensure policy compliance, and report violations to the office. This role emphasizes safety, training, and strict adherence to the Vessel Security Plan.

Responsibilities include conducting drills, budget oversight, and supervising deck crew while maintaining logs and radio watch. Travel to vessels and training sites by air or car as needed.

Qualifications

• USCG Master of Tow Vessels license required.
• Must meet USCG physical examination requirements.
• Maintain an active TWIC and be able to travel to vessel/training locations.
• Ability to travel to and from vessel/training locations via air or car travel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe and efficient operation and performance of crew, vessel, and tow.
• Ensure policy, rules, and regulations are followed and report violations to the office.
• Conduct monthly drills and safety meetings.
• Ensure work complies with company safety policies and practices.
• Provide instruction to crew and monitor performance; maintain vessel budget and logs.
