Job Responsibilities
- Operate a tow truck to provide tow services to customer vehicles on the auction lot and at various locations as needed.
- Operate a front-end loader to load and unload vehicles for customers and move vehicles around the lot for auction purposes.
- Properly attach the tow truck and front-end loader to vehicles needing towing, ensuring no damage or safety hazards during the process. Release vehicles safely and securely after towing.
- Haul vehicles to designated areas in a safe and courteous manner.
- Scan every towed vehicle using the TC75 device at the delivery location.
- Assist employees and customers with towing, jump-starting vehicle batteries, unlocking vehicles, and locating vehicles using Lot Vision, as requested.
- Tow vehicles to the mechanic's shop as needed.
- Remove improperly parked or unsafe vehicles from customer and employee parking areas upon request.
- Perform routine maintenance on tow trucks and front-end loaders, such as oil changes, lubrication, filter changes, and tire replacements.
- Operate trucks and loaders in compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist in lot operations and sale day activities when not operating towing equipment.
- Follow all safety and health procedures, actively participate in safety activities, and demonstrate safety commitment.
- Run reports to move vehicles into the sale TRA area for auction.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Work overtime as required by business needs.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Alternatively, a different combination of education and experience, such as a higher degree with 3 years of related experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record are required.
Preferred:
- Valid Class C CDL (not required but preferred).
- Rollback tow truck experience.
- 1-3 years of experience driving service or tow trucks, or operating a front-end loader.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods, walk long distances, and perform physical activities such as standing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, squatting, and climbing.
- Ability to lift 1-30 pounds.
- Vision abilities including close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moderate noise levels, and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical hazards.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly rate: $19.52 - $29.23, based on location, experience, and skills. Additional compensation may include commissions and incentives.
Benefits include a minimum of 16 hours of paid time off per month, seven paid holidays, and additional leave options such as bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer, military, and parental leave.
