Job description

COMPANY: Skyway Auto Parts Inc.
JOB TITLE: Tow Truck Driver (CDL B or C).
LOCATION: 49 Hopkins Street Buffalo, NY 14220.
REPORTS TO: Feeder Yard Manager.
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Non-Exempt.

HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM, Saturday's as needed.

COMPENSATION: $21-24/hour, based on skills and experience.

Summary:

Responsible for the safe and efficient pickup and delivery of vehicles at customer sites to company sites. Perform all job duties in accordance with established work procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Drives truck in a safe manner at all times, ensuring that every trip is completed in accordance with DOT regulations, speed limits and free of accidents.
2. Responsible for monitoring road and traffic conditions at all times to prevent accidents.
3. Conducts daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck.
4. Completes required paperwork accurately and turns in any paperwork daily to the scale with each vehicle brought in.
5. Picks up and delivers vehicles to Metalico yards safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
6. Responsible for inspecting customer's vehicle to make sure it’s in agreement with the deal that was made between the customer and the Metalico representative.
7. Driver will be responsible for matching up customer title to VIN number and bringing title back to scale house.
8. Responsible for maneuvering truck at customer’s site in a safe and accident-free manner at all times.
9. Monitors mechanical functions of the truck, responsible for reporting any issues to their reporting manager or the maintenance supervisor.
10. Ensures truck is kept clean inside and out.
11. This position makes safety a top priority and looks for opportunities to improve on safety, follows all safety rules and wears appropriate PPE at all times.
12. Participates in monthly safety meetings.
13. Communicates to manager any customer concerns or any other concern the driver may have.
14. Communicates to manager immediately of any accidents that may have happened with or without damage or any damage done at a customer’s facility or in transit to or from yard/customer location.
15. Delivers finished non-ferrous product/material to purchasers.
16. Picks up parts/tools for maintenance.
17. Delivers packages to shipping service.
18. General labor duties will be required to be performed at the main when tow truck services are not needed at the time.
19. Ensure that Quality, Environmental, and Safety Standards of Metalico, Inc. for production, customers and employees are consistently achieved.
20. Performs other tasks as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

1. Clean driving record.
2. Safety oriented.
3. Class B License is preferred.
4. Willingness to work.
5. Good attendance.
6. Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace.
