Wharton Center for Performing Arts seeks a Technical Director to lead technical operations and production support, primarily for touring Broadway engagements. This role coordinates technical preparation and execution, ensuring staffing, equipment, and production support meet show requirements.

You will supervise stage personnel and on-call crew, coordinate advances, and work with venue teams to deliver safe, professional productions within schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in theatrical design, technical direction, or stage management.
• Three to five years of related theatre experience.
• Experience with touring Broadway productions and unions.
• Knowledge of rigging, lighting, audio, video, and projection systems.
• Certifications in rigging, safety, or production technology preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead touring Broadway production advances and coordination.
• Plan load-ins, rehearsals, and load-outs with crew.
• Oversee lighting, audio, rigging, and production systems.
• Maintain safety practices and risk management.
• Manage budget estimates and payroll for crews.
• Coordinate union calls and crew supervision.
