Job summary

Kentucky Performing Arts is seeking a Technical Director to oversee technical operations, infrastructure, systems, and support for venues, productions, events, and spaces. You will provide leadership for rigging, lift, and staging systems and collaborate with production leadership to ensure flawless event execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressive technical theatre or live event tech ops experience.
• Minimum four years of supervisory or leadership experience in a theatrical or live event environment.
• ETCP Rigger certification or equivalent in theatre systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee technical operations for KPA venues and theatrical spaces.
• Serve as a senior production management resource for complex, high-profile events.
• Oversee production planning: advance work, staffing, schedules, and post-event follow-up.
• Oversee technical theatre systems including rigging, staging, lifts, and related infrastructure.
• Maintain operational readiness of production systems and equipment across venues.
