Title Tortilla Maker / Tortilla Stand
Reports To: Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager, Kitchen Supervisor
Department: Food & Beverage

Summary of Position:

The purpose of this position is to hand-make tortillas by following specific recipes and processes. The Tortilla Maker is also responsible for providing excellent customer service to Guests and Employees when handing out complimentary tortillas and fulfilling and delivering orders to the Employees or kitchen.

Responsibilities:

• Provides excellent customer service and greets Guests immediately
• Knows and complies consistently with Company standards of portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
• Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
• Notifies Supervisor of deficiencies, low inventory levels and/or unsafe conditions
• Operate all kitchen appliances in a sanitary and safe manner
• Returns dirty food preparation utensils to the appropriate areas
• Cover, date and correctly store all bits and pieces and food prep items
• Use food preparation tools in accordance with manufactures’ instructions
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by Supervisor
• Must be able to fulfill and deliver detailed Guest and Staff orders
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
• Fill in for absent Staff as needed
• Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
• Must be able to perform and complete all opening and closing duties of the restaurant as well as complete side work or during-shift duties
• Adhere to defined Company recipes and Safe Food Handling procedures in order to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Maintain professional image, including sanitation and cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standards.
• All other duties as may be assigned

Position Requirements:

• Must have a Food Handlers Certification
• Knowledge of food preparation and storage, sanitation requirements and commercial kitchen equipment
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently, especially when cooking for large orders
• Must follow and adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies
• Ability to work outdoors, or indoors, during all types of weather.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities in a positive and productive way
• Ability be able to perform under pressure, concentrate for a prolonged periods and able to work long hours under stressful conditions
• Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment and in close proximity to other people
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Frequent bending, twisting, lifting and squatting will be required

Knowledge and Experience:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years previous food and beverage serving or related experience, preferably in a similar environment.
