Job summary

Market Street Recycling in Houston, TX seeks a torch cutter to operate plasma and oxy-fuel torches, prepare and clean metal, and support scrap metal processing during the 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM shift.

You will move materials using a skid steer and forklift, set up equipment, and maintain a safe, efficient work area. Prior experience in scrap or metal cutting is preferred; uniforms and PPE are provided, and benefits include insurance, a 401(k), and paid vacation and sick days.

Qualifications

• Proficient in operating skid steer and forklift before and after cutting.
• Experience in scrap metal or metal cutting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate plasma and oxy-fuel torches to cut and prep metal.
• Move materials with skid steer/forklift as needed.
• Maintain work area and ensure safety procedures.

Job description

Market Street Recycling is looking for a torch cutter. The hours are from 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM. The pay range listed is based on prior experience.

There are two torches that you will be using. One is a portable plasma torch and the other is a traditional handheld oxy-fuel torch. The object is to prepare or clean metal.

Requirements:

• You must be proficient in running a skid steer bobcat and a forklift to move material prior to cutting and after the material is prepared.
• Experience within the scrap industry or experience cutting metal is preferred.

There are two breaks and a 30 min. break to eat during the work period. Uniforms can be provided as well as PPE.
