Job summary

The Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is seeking a Security Specialist at the GS-0080-9/11 level to administer the Personnel Security Program for U.S. active duty and reserve personnel assigned to NATO HQ SACT. The role serves as a primary liaison with external and internal contacts and coordinates security clearances and NBIS management.

The position requires knowledge of U.S. and NATO security regulations, experience managing NBIS, and acting as Facility Security Officer for NATO Hire

Qualifications

• Transcripts or other documentation required to support education claims.
• One academic year of graduate education is considered to represent one academic year of full-time study.
• Foreign education may be qualifying with proper evaluation and English translation if needed.
• Official transcripts required before a firm job offer is made.

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable of U.S. and NATO personnel security regulations.
• Manage personnel in the NBIS application, validate eligibility, and ensure appropriate national security clearance.
• Serve as Facility Security Officer for NATO Direct Hire civilians and Independent Contractors hired directly by SACT.
• Assist new employees with security requirements and coordinate RFV/NSCC processing with DCSA International Assurance Programs.
