Job summary

Scale is seeking a highly technical Security Engineer to join our Public Sector Infrastructure & Security team as a security generalist. You will design and ship high-precision detections across cloud services and enterprise SaaS, building systems that detect, contain, and prevent incidents while writing production-grade code.

You will structure investigations, analyze root causes, and communicate impact and remediation steps, turning findings into durable engineering improvements and smarter

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance required.
• 5+ years of experience in Detection Engineering, Incident Response, or Security Operations.
• Proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, Python, and Go.
• Ability to write production-grade code, not just scripts.
• Experience designing or improving detection pipelines, SIEM/EDR/SOAR integrations.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, test, and deploy detection logic across cloud and enterprise environments with version control and peer review.
• Build and maintain incident response automation, runbooks, and tooling to reduce containment timelines.
• Improve telemetry pipelines with better schemas, normalization, and quality checks.
• Conduct digital incident investigations to identify breaches and containment opportunities.
• Perform malware analysis to understand attack vectors and adversary methodologies.
