Job summary

Piper Companies is hiring a Security Specialist- Top Secret for a Cloud and Technology company located in Morrisville, NC. The Security Specialist- Top Secret will support cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment initiatives while partnering with engineering teams to maintain and improve enterprise cloud environments.

This onsite role requires the ability to manage security processes, conduct assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance under 32 CFR Part 117 and ICDs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science required; related disciplines may be considered with experience.
• 0-2 years of professional experience in software engineering, cloud technologies, DevOps, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Python development with automation and scripting.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform from work, coursework, or projects.
• Familiarity with Linux, CI/CD methodologies, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaC concepts.
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage device accountability, electronic media control, document control, and inventory tracking to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
• Support onboarding/offboarding, clearance prescreening, investigation initiation, fingerprint processing, security briefings/debriefings, indoctrinations, training, polygraph coordination, visit requests, badging, and subcontractor support.
• Assist in conducting security assessments, self-inspections, vulnerability testing, and compliance reviews; prepare reports, maintain audit records, and reconcile security-related data to ensure adherence to federal and local regulations.
• Coordinate and support administrative inquiries involving adverse information, security violations, and incident reporting in accordance with company and government security requirements.
• Apply knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), SEAD-3, and applicable Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) to support security operations and regulatory compliance.
• Utilize security systems and databases including DISS, NBIS, eAPP, SWFT, NISS, and ACCS while leveraging strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills to support personnel and program security functions.
