Job summary

Aquila Technology in Lexington, MA, seeks a Systems Administrator to support one of the country’s premier defense research organizations in a highly secure, air‑gapped environment.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance, hands-on Windows and Linux administration, VMware, Active Directory, and strong networking skills. This is a 100% onsite position within 100 miles of Lexington, MA, with opportunities to enhance cybersecurity and automation in a mission‑critical setting.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• 4+ years of systems administration in a classified environment.
• Experience deploying and securing Windows and Linux endpoints.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and enhance a secure air‑gapped computing environment.
• Maintain and deploy workstations on Windows and Red Hat Linux.
• Assist with administration of virtual and physical servers (Windows Server, Red Hat, VMware).
• Maintain compliance via regular patching and STIG/SCAP hardening.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and propose upgrades.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on procurements and upgrades.
• Manage data backups, recoveries, and licenses.
