Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking an Application Developer to support a government contracting initiative in Herndon, VA. This role requires an active Top Secret clearance and is an onsite position at the client location.

The ideal candidate will bring 2–10 years of Java development experience, strong XML skills, and familiarity with Angular and Kubernetes, plus the ability to navigate Linux and Windows environments. A Bachelor's degree is preferred and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–10 years of professional Java development experience.
• Proven ability to work with XML and experience in COTS/FOSS integration and support.
• Ability to troubleshoot and navigate multiple operating system environments including LINUX/Windows.
• Experience with Angular and Kubernetes is a huge plus.
• Active Top Secret security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
• Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
• Correct program errors, compiling documentation of program development, and analyzing system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
• Ensure software standards are defined and met.
