Job summary

Visual Soft, Inc is hiring an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in Washington, DC for a federal project requiring an active Top Secret clearance. The ISSO will oversee security operations, documentation, and incident response for assigned information systems per DoD/NIST guidelines.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multiple divisions and ongoing risk management, with certification and accreditation activities and strong leadership requirements.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance
• 4 year degree (experience can substitute for education)
• Working knowledge of DoD or Intel Networks
• 4-5 years of experience with assessing security controls based on DoD RMF or NIST 800-53 guidelines
• Strong leadership experience and interpersonal skills
• Desired certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CAP, GIAC) are a plus

Responsibilities

• Ensure operational security posture for each assigned information system or product.
• Oversee and maintain security configuration, practices, and procedures per federal policies.
• Lead security operations, planning, monitoring, and incident reporting.
• Collaborate with Security Division, ESOC, OGC, product managers and system owners to secure the product.
• Engage in certification/assurance activities and risk management.
