Job summary

Peraton seeks a Cyber Splunk Software Engineer to design, develop, and secure software in highly classified environments. You will build custom Splunk apps, automate cyber workflows, and ensure compliance with RMF, JSIG, and STIGs while integrating with enterprise security tools.

You will contribute to full lifecycle engineering, from concept to deployment and continuous monitoring, using Python/Java and secure coding practices to strengthen mission systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software or cyber engineering.
• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• DoD 8140 IAT II/III or equivalent.
• 5+ years in software or cyber engineering.
• Hands-on Splunk Enterprise, Splunk ES, SPLUNK apps.
• Experience integrating Splunk with security tools.
• Secure coding, testing, and vulnerability mitigation.
• RMF, JSIG, STIGs and DoD controls.
• Proficiency in Python or Java.
• Experience in classified environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and secure software solutions in classified environments.
• Engineer Splunk dashboards, apps, queries, and data pipelines.
• Perform security testing and secure code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues.
• Develop new software solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Document architecture, artifacts, and compliance records.
• Advise on secure coding practices and Splunk best practices.
• Support RMF/JSIG compliance activities and continuous monitoring.
• Automate security tasks using scripting and APIs.
• Contribute to system and software architecture decisions.
