Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cyber Splunk Software Engineer to design, develop, and secure software solutions for highly classified environments in the United States. You will craft SPLUNK dashboards, automate workflows, and ensure compliance with JSIG, RMF, and TRA requirements.

The role emphasizes hands-on Splunk work, secure coding, and collaboration across teams in a high-security setting. A TS clearance with SCI eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA with 8+ years relevant experience
• Requires Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• DoD 8140 Intermediate or Advanced certification (IAT II/IAT III or equivalent)
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, cyber engineering, or secure system development
• Hands on experience with Splunk Enterprise, Splunk ES, Splunk app development, and SPLUNK data onboarding
• Experience integrating Splunk with enterprise security tools (ACAS, HBSS/ESS, EDR platforms)
• Strong proficiency in secure coding, software testing, debugging, and vulnerability mitigation
• Experience implementing RMF, JSIG, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity controls
• Proficiency with Python, Java, or similar languages used for secure software development
• Experience engineering solutions in classified or highly regulated environments

Responsibilities

• Implement, operate, and test advanced software security techniques in DoD-compliant environments
• Engineer and optimize SPLUNK dashboards, apps, queries, and data ingestion pipelines
• Perform security testing, static/dynamic analysis, and secure code reviews
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software and system integration issues in classified environments
• Design and develop software solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities and enhance cyber defense
• Contribute to system and software architecture, data flows, and security controls
• Maintain documentation and engineering artifacts for compliance
• Advise on secure coding practices and SPLUNK best practices
• Develop familiarity with emerging tools and industry standards to improve mission capabilities
• Support RMF, JSIG, and DoD cybersecurity compliance activities
• Automate security tasks using scripting, APIs, and SPLUNK automation
• Engineer secure collaboration platforms and enterprise services in classified settings
• Provide engineering designs for new software solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities
