Qualifications

Responsibilities

Insight Global is seeking an ESRI Administrator to support enterprise-level geospatial systems for a mission-critical federal client. This role focuses on implementing, and maintaining robust GIS environments that enable secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Esri technologies, system administration, and database management, along with a strong understanding of authentication, networking, and cloud operations.

As part of this team, you will work on both development and production environments, ensuring seamless integration of GIS services with enterprise infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with technical stakeholders to optimize workflows, enhance system reliability, and deliver innovative geospatial solutions that meet complex operational needs. The selected candidate will work onsite at agency headquarters, collaborating directly with government in support of law enforcement and intelligence operations.

• Design and implement enterprise GIS systems to meet client requirements and operational needs.
• Administer and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise environments, including Portal for ArcGIS and associated components.
• Manage system configurations across development (DEV) and production (PROD) environments for stability and performance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot GIS services, databases, and integrations to ensure high availability and security.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize workflows, deploy updates, and support geospatial solutions.
• Develop scripts and automation (primarily in Python; PowerShell or other languages as needed) to streamline system tasks.
• Ensure compliance with security protocols, authentication standards, and cloud-based system operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• ~3 years of ESRI ArcGIS system administration with experience in:
  • Patching ESRI servers: applying software patches provided by Esri, fixing bugs, improving performance, and/or addressing security vulnerabilities on servers running Esri products (like ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server).
  • Installing Upgrades: Upgrading Esri software versions (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro) to a newer release. Migrating configurations, ensuring compatibility, and testing functionality after the upgrade.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Pluses:

• Cloud Operations: Familiarity with cloud-based SysOps
• One of the following professional certifications: GIS Professional Certificate (GISP); ESRI technical certifications: ArcGIS Spatial Analysis, ArcGIS Desktop Professional/Associate, ArcGIS Enterprise Administration, ArcGIS Developer Associate
• Experience with at least one RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and SQL query writing
• BA in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or STEM related field
• Coding expereince with Arcpy in ArcGIS
