Job summary

ThinkTek LLC, a fast-growing Federal contractor in the National Capital Region, is seeking Cabling Installers to support a DoD client at the Pentagon. Responsibilities include installing Category 6 copper cabling and wireless access points, testing per ANSI/TIA-568, and maintaining cabling documentation.

Ideal candidates have a Top Secret clearance, 2–3 years of copper cabling experience, and the ability to work in a security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• 2–3 years of structured copper cabling experience.
• Proficiency in Category 6 cable pulling, termination and testing to ANSI/TIA-568 standards.
• Ability to read cabling plans and follow installation drawings.
• Ability to perform physical installation work, including ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label and test Category 6 copper cabling for wireless AP installation.
• Perform cable pulls through pathways and telecommunications rooms.
• Test and troubleshoot copper cabling to ANSI/TIA-568 standards with test equipment.
• Install and mount access points and verify connectivity with copper cabling.
• Remove legacy APs, cabling and mounting hardware and support site restoration.
• Support inventory of components and update cabling documentation.
• Follow quality control, safety practices and applicable codes.

Position Description

ThinkTek is seeking Cabling Installers to support a Department of War client at the Pentagon in the National Capital Region. This role performs structured copper cabling and wireless access point installation in support of a wireless network lifecycle replacement effort, including cable pulls, terminations, and testing under the direction of the crew lead.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, and test Category 6 copper cabling in support of wireless access point installation
• Perform cable pulls through pathways, telecommunications rooms, and ceiling spaces in accordance with approved plans
• Test and troubleshoot copper cabling to ANSI/TIA-568 standards using industry-standard test equipment
• Install and mount access points and verify connectivity between the copper cabling and each access point
• Remove legacy access points, cabling, and mounting hardware, and support site restoration including fire-stop and ceiling-tile replacement
• Support inventory and accountability of new and removed components
• Maintain accurate labeling and support updates to cabling documentation
• Follow quality control, safety practices, and applicable codes and standards

Required Qualifications

• Active Top Secret security clearance
• 2 to 3 years of structured copper cabling experience
• Proficiency in Category 6 cable pulling, termination, and testing to ANSI/TIA-568 standards
• Ability to read cabling plans and follow installation drawings
• Ability to perform physical installation work, including working on ladders and lifts and lifting up to 50 pounds

Desired Qualifications

• Prior experience working within the Pentagon and familiarity with its telecommunications infrastructure
• Experience installing within SCIF or other classified spaces, including familiarity with TEMPEST, ICD 705, and Red/Black separation requirements
• Additional BICSI credentials
• OSHA 10 or 30, lift, or fall-protection certifications
• Experience with cable certification test equipment (e.g., Fluke DSX)

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $105,030 – $115,020. This range is a good-faith estimate and not a guarantee of compensation. Final compensation will be based on factors including experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, market data, and applicable contract requirements, and may fall outside the posted range.
