Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Command and Control Enclave (C2E) Architect – Staff Engineer Systems Architect to join the Research and Advanced Design organization onsite in El Segundo.

The role serves as the primary technical expert delivering tailored architectural solutions for C2E, performing trade studies, and aligning design with contract objectives while collaborating with systems engineering and other teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 12+ years of related professional/military experience OR Master’s degree with 10+ years OR STEM Ph.D. with 8+ years of related experience.
• Active US Government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within past 6 years or Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance within reasonable time as per business needs.
• Experience in large system development, integration, and test processes with strong emphasis on technical analysis and trade studies.
• Ability to drive technical initiatives as an individual contributor with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Background in system architecture across software, hardware, networking, and related engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract-specific trade studies and technical assessments to evaluate alternative design approaches.
• Develop architectural strategies for hardware, software, and networks for C2E.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and validate system requirements.
• Analyze system performance, interface compatibility, and payload integration for C2E.
• Serve as primary technical point-of-contact for architectural direction and trade study outcomes.
• Prepare technical documentation, design reviews, and strategic proposals.
• Apply rigorous engineering processes to development, integration, and testing activities.
