Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a contract Systems Engineer/Administrator focused on Active Directory and identity management. The role is based in Richardson, TX but is described as fully remote. You will design and maintain AD GPOs, manage provisioning workflows, and support ATO/RMF activities with the cybersecurity team.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years of AD experience, understands RBAC, and holds TS/SCI eligibility or higher. DoD/IC background and PowerShell scripting are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering or systems administration with a focus on Active Directory and identity management.
• Solid working knowledge of Group Policy configuration, management, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
• Experience managing identity lifecycle workflows including user provisioning and deprovisioning processes.
• Familiarity with RBAC frameworks, delegation models, and least-privilege access principles.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory operational health including replication, DNS, and domain controller management.
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs and their application to directory services and identity infrastructure.
• Active Top Secret security clearance required; TS/SCI eligibility preferred.
• Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain GPOs across AD environments in line with DISA STIGs and security policies.
• Manage identity lifecycle workflows including provisioning, modification, and deprovisioning across systems.
• Execute onboarding processes: account creation, role assignment, access provisioning, and RBAC documentation.
• Perform operational maintenance of AD infrastructure: replication, DNS health, domain controller management, schema updates.
• Support least-privilege access via access reviews and role-based permission audits.
• Assist senior engineers with trust configuration, ADFS operations, and identity federation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve AD, GPO, and identity-related issues promptly.
• Support ATO documentation, RMF activities, and continuous monitoring with cybersecurity team.
• Maintain accurate documentation: GPO inventories, identity workflows, and runbooks.
