Job summary

PURIS is seeking a Top Man (Deck Man) to support open cut and underground utility construction in Houston. Responsibilities include layout, grade verification, documentation, material coordination, and field leadership when designated as Lead Top Man.

The role requires strong math, surveying knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with pipe layers and laborers. Travel to project sites will be necessary.

Qualifications

• Experience in underground/open cut utility construction.
• Experience with sewer, water, and storm utility installations.
• Experience using pipe lasers and grade control equipment.

Responsibilities

• Verify and communicate project grades and layout.
• Document shots, elevations, and field measurements.
• Maintain survey book and project records.
• Assist with pipe installation and layout activities.
• Coordinate materials and crew needs.
• Maintain safe, clean jobsite and PPE compliance.
• Report issues to Foreman promptly.
