Job summary

PURIS seeks a Top Man (Deck Man) to support open cut and underground utility construction across North America. You will assist with project layout, grade verification, documentation, and field leadership under supervision, ensuring accurate grades and safe, efficient pipe installation.

Responsibilities include recording measurements, maintaining survey books, coordinating materials, and aiding pipe layers and ditch laborers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Experience in underground/open cut construction and utility installation preferred.
• Experience with pipe lasers, grade control, and field layout tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify and communicate project grades, elevations, and layout information.
• Maintain survey documentation, field notes, and redlines.
• Coordinate materials and tools for pipe layers and ditch laborers.
• Assist with pipe installation and grade verification.
• Lead field activities as needed and report issues to Foreman.
