Job summary

Wonder is seeking a Manager, Engineering Tools & Infrastructure in Boston to be the backbone of our hardware engineering team. You will own the core engineering software suite (CAD, PDM, PLM) to design, document, and release complex automation products, eliminating friction and ensuring data integrity.

You will architect workflows, troubleshoot issues, and enforce documentation standards across the PLM ecosystem while coordinating with IT procurement for licenses and renewals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years administering CAD (Solidworks preferred), PDM and PLM.
• Experience configuring PLM systems (Teamcenter, Arena, Propel).
• Proven experience with JIRA, creating custom automations and workflows.
• Familiarity with hardware product development lifecycle from prototyping to production.
• Understanding of Parts vs Assemblies, 3D vs 2D CAD, and related documentation in PDM/PLM databases.
• Support‑first mindset with ability to troubleshoot under tight deadlines.
• Bonus - familiarity with Quality Management System (QMS) implementation).

Responsibilities

• Architect and administer the core engineering software suite (CAD, PDM, PLM) to enable hardware engineering teams.
• Create and maintain custom workflows, automations, and templates in the core suite.
• Troubleshoot error messages, vault access issues, and software bugs for the mechanical engineering team.
• Enforce and improve documentation standards for file naming, revision control, and BOM management.
• Maintain software systems with new versions, test features with team workflows.
• Manage permissions and onboarding/offboarding for hardware engineering users.
• Co-own vendor relationships with IT Procurement to secure licenses and renewals.
