Qualifications

• 4 years machining and tool and die experience or approved schooling
• Good understanding of tool steel properties and heat-treating characteristics
• Sufficient in reading standard component and assembly prints with understanding of symbols
• Provide own machinist tools and be proficient in using them
• Must pass company machinist math test
• Quality and safety conscious attitude
• Ability to program & run tool room CNC machines
• Must be capable of welding standard tool steels

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate tool room machinery including CNC machines without supervision
• Produce and assemble machined components to print tolerances up to ±0.0005"
• Assemble dies, fixtures and jigs to assembly print
• Work independently on assigned jobs with minimal supervision
• Understand machining/grinding tendencies and machine settings/tools
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety rules
• Perform routine maintenance on tool room machines
• Troubleshoot tooling and fixtures
• Turn parts to print and operate clamps to secure parts
• Read and operate CNC controls
