You’ll take charge of all shop activities for assigned projects, overseeing everything from design for manufacturing and process planning to CAM programming, operations, assembly, and certification. You’ll ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery across multiple projects. You’ll also bring expertise in process planning, project management, and design skills in injection mold tooling.

What You Will Do
  • Clean, repair, assemble, optimize, and certify hot and cold runner Injection Mold tooling. Work within tight tolerances of +/- .0002.
  • Repair hot and cold runner molds by identifying and correcting problems. Analyze and troubleshoot molds, assess issues, and perform repairs.
  • Disassemble and reassemble all types of progressive dies and die cast molds for routine maintenance or repairs.
  • Provide support to production by problem-solving and building tools.
  • Process planning and documentation.
  • Ensure projects meet customer quality requirements.
  • Deliver projects on schedule.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Bring
  • 10+ years experience in tool room fabrication and assembly of complex molds, dies, and machine assemblies, with project management experience. Wire EDM experience preferred.
  • Skilled in CNC machine tools, manual processes, and current CAM practices.
  • Strong understanding of mold/die design and properties of tool steels. Practical experience with hot and cold runner molds.
  • Experience with Unigraphics CAD/CAM design and drafting modules.
  • Preferred: Mold Making Journeyman’s card or equivalent.
  • Proficient with mills, grinders, lathes, hone, ultrasonic cleaner, polisher, and plastic injection molds.
  • Skilled in using scales, calipers, micrometers, comparators, indicators, micro-height, and toolmaker’s microscope.
  • Ability to read procedures, work instructions, and interpret engineering graphics.
  • Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering, production, and toolroom teams.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and stand/walk for up to 8 hours daily.

This position is available for any shift, including days, evenings, and nights.

Compensation: The expected base pay range is $38 - $48/hour. Salaries depend on skills, experience, and market factors.
