Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Savannah seeks a Toolmaker I for the 2nd shift to lay out and construct tooling from drawings and tolerances. You will read blueprints, set up shop equipment, perform basic calculations, and verify tooling with precision gauges to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Under supervision, you will maintain tooling fixtures, assist with tool prove-out, and conduct inspections while following safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of machine shop experience or training.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate tool shop machinery to fabricate/assemble quality tooling.
• Perform simple calculations of material needs and other requirements.
• Set up and utilize precision measuring tools; check own work for conformance to specifications.
• Assist with tool prove out on new and reworked tooling.
• Responsible for repair/maintenance of tooling fixtures and related equipment.
• Conduct visual and periodic inspections and proof loads on tooling.
