Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace seeks a Toolmaker II for the 2nd shift in Savannah, GA to set up and operate tool shop equipment, construct tooling from designs, and perform material calculations. You will read engineering drawings, verify dimensions with precision tools, and support tooling proofs, repairs, and maintenance.

A High School diploma or GED, plus 3 years of machine shop experience or training, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years machine shop experience and/or machine shop training at a Vocational Technical School.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate tool shop machinery and equipment to fabricate and assemble quality tooling from Tool Design, Engineering drawings and/or hand sketches.
• Perform calculations of materials needed and the speed and feeds required on all machining functions.
• Set up and utilize precision measuring tools; check own work for conformance to specifications.
• Assist with tool prove out on new and reworked detail tooling.
• Responsible for the repair and maintenance of tooling fixtures, scaffolding, dollies, hoists and test equipment.
• Responsible for conducting visual and periodic inspections and proof loads on tooling.
