Job summary

Paslin is seeking experienced Toolmakers to join our manufacturing group. You will build tooling based on drawings and customer specifications, reading blueprints, and using mills, lathes, and precision measuring tools.

This on-site role requires 8+ years in a toolroom or machine shop and a strong commitment to quality. Typical hours are 6am-2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime and occasional travel to other Paslin locations.

Qualifications

• Toolmaker certification or equivalent experience 8+ years in a toolroom or machine shop.
• Able to read blueprints and layout / set up tools accordingly.
• Able to use overhead crane and drive powered industrial truck.
• Skilled in the use of mills and lathes and power tools such as surface grinders, including MIG / ARC weld as needed.

Responsibilities

• Build tooling based on work requirements, utilizing drawings and customer specifications.
• Read blueprints and layout / set up tools accordingly.
• Operate mills, lathes and power tools; perform MIG/ARC welding as needed.

This position is responsible for the build of the assigned tooling based on work requirements, utilizing drawings, and customer specifications. Work type: On-site at local Paslin locations. Not available for remote work.

Expected hours of work: Typical work schedules for this site are 6am-230pm, Monday to Friday.

Overtime: This position is for regular, full-time work and may require coming in early, working late, or working on weekends to meet the needs of the business.

Travel: This position may require occasional travel to customer sites or local travel to other Paslin locations.

Work Environment: This position operates in a manufacturing site environment. This is a safety sensitive role, which includes working around moving equipment and machinery.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and twist. This role requires the use of hand operated tools and machine controls. Occasionally required to lift/push/pull up to 40lbs.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Toolmaker certification or equivalent experience 8+ years in a toolroom or machine shop
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of shop mathematics and the use of tools for measuring such as micrometers, calipers and gauges
• Able to read blueprints and layout / set up tools accordingly
• Able to use overhead crane and drive powered industrial truck
• Skilled in the use of mills and lathes and power tools such as surface grinders, including MIG / ARC weld as needed
