Job summary

Amcor LLC in Madisonville, KY seeks a Tool Room Supervisor to lead training and day-to-day tool room operations. You will coordinate with tooling, maintenance and scheduling teams to prioritize work and ensure safety and high quality outcomes.

The role requires a Journeyman Tool Maker certification, strong leadership, and the ability to manage records, policies and maintenance for molds and dies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Certified Journeyman Tool Maker required.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lift 75 lb repeatedly and work overhead.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift in high-traffic areas.
  • Color vision (Ishihara test) and reading ability as specified.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and training of new employees and direct other employees in their work habits.
  • Work with tooling manager and Maintenance department to develop and implement training programs.
  • Oversee the proper care of company property and equipment.
  • Cooperate with Scheduling to coordinate projects between departments.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to prioritize work for company interests.
  • Assist HR with screening and interviewing potential Tool Room employees.
  • Support Tooling and Engineering at other Amcor facilities when needed.
  • Enforce company policies, safety rules and good working practices.
  • Develop new Tool Room policies to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain records on maintenance performed on molds and dies.

Job DescriptionRESPONSIBILITIES:1. Oversee the development and training of new employees and direct other employees in theirwork habits.2. Ability to lift 75 pounds a minimum of 10 times per day and lift 50-75 lbs over shoulder heightoccasionally.7. Ability to occasionally climb on and off a forklift safely and without assistance.8. Ability to safely operate a forklift in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety riskto others.9. Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms and horns on forklifts.10. Able to occasionally climb ladders safely and without assistance. Ability to work at heights (withor without fall protection). Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.11. Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the complex.12. Able to use both hands for effective manipulation of tools/parts.13. Able to work overhead or in awkward positions on a frequent basis.14. Ability to push/pull loads of approx 75 lbs at a minimum of 10 times per day/shift.15. Stereoptic vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability toread 10–12-point font at a distance of 12-18 inches. Ability to complete an "Ishihara" color visiontest.16.
