Job summary

Novolex is seeking a Tooling Tech to set up and optimize Roll Fed and inline equipment. You will train operators, maintain machines, and participate in tooling upgrades.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and cross-department collaboration within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates should have at least four years in a maintenance/technician role, electrical experience with 480V 3-phase, and familiarity with VFDs and PLCs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a maintenance/technician/tooling role in manufacturing.
• Electrical training/experience with 480 3 phases/machine controls.
• Experience operating forklift equipment.
• Experience with VFD drives and PLCs is preferred.
• Willingness to train others and improve tooling processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and line out Roll Fed and inline equipment within time and material constraints.
• Train less experienced operators on safe methods of setup and operation.
• Update and revise machine training manuals and JSA's.
• Perform basic mechanical maintenance and PM tasks.
• Assist in decisions on upgrades or replacements of machinery.
• Collaborate with sales and tool design to ensure tools run on equipment.
• Work with Process Engineers, maintenance, and operators to minimize setup time and reduce scrap.
• Make adjustments to tooling setup for production alignment.

Job Description

Competitive pay rate: $20.00 - $24.00 an hour - paid weekly (based on experience)

Tooling Tech Position Description:

• Must be able to set-up and line out all Roll Fed and inline equipment in the prescribed amount of time with the prescribed material.
• Must be able to work with less experienced operators training them on the approved safe methods of setting up and operating the machines.
• Contribute to the ongoing effort to update and revise the machine training manuals and JSA's.
• Must be able to perform basic mechanical basic machine maintenance, repair tasks and PM maintenance.
• Set-up person may be involved in the decision making process for upgrade and/or replacement of existing machinery.
• Must be able to work closely with others for developing improvements and modification to the tools.
• Must be able to work with sales and tool design departments with the purpose of assuring that new tools have been designed to run efficiently on WNA equipment.
• Must be able to work closely with the Process Engineers, lead people, maintenance, operators and packers with the goal of minimizing set-up time, maximizing production efficiency and eliminating scrap.
• Ability to make any and all adjustments to the machines as it relates to the set-up of the tooling in to production.

Qualifications:

• Eligible to work in the United States
• Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen
• Work overtime as required
• Ability perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a maintenance mechanic/technician/tooling role in a manufacturing environment
• Electrical training/experience with 480 3 phases/machine controls
• Experience with VFD Drives and PLCs preferred
• Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required
• Experience operating forklift equipment
• Ability to successfully multitask in a fast pace environment

• Satisfactorily completes training courses as determined by management
