Job summary

Novolex in Chattanooga, TN seeks a Tooling Tech to set up Roll Fed and inline equipment, train operators, and help update manuals and safety documents. The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering, sales, and production to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in manufacturing tooling, electrical training with 480V 3-phase controls, and experience with VFDs/PLCs. Medical, dental, and vision benefits are offered with weekly pay.

Responsibilities

• Set up and line out all Roll Fed and inline equipment in the prescribed time with the prescribed material.
• Train less experienced operators on approved safe methods for setting up and operating machines.
• Contribute to updating training manuals and JSAs.
• Perform basic mechanical maintenance, repair tasks and PM maintenance.
• Set-up personnel may participate in decisions on upgrades/replacements of machinery.
• Collaborate with others to develop tool improvements and modifications.
• Work with sales and tool design to ensure tools run efficiently on WNA equipment.
• Cooperate with Process Engineers, maintenance, operators and packers to minimize setup time and maximize production.
• Make adjustments to machines related to tooling setup in production.

Job Description

Competitive pay rate: $20.00 - $24.00 an hour - paid weekly (based on experience)

Tooling Tech Position Description:

• Must be able to set-up and line out all Roll Fed and inline equipment in the prescribed amount of time with the prescribed material.
• Must be able to work with less experienced operators training them on the approved safe methods of setting up and operating the machines.
• Contribute to the ongoing effort to update and revise the machine training manuals and JSA's.
• Must be able to perform basic mechanical basic machine maintenance, repair tasks and PM maintenance.
• Set-up person may be involved in the decision making process for upgrade and/or replacement of existing machinery.
• Must be able to work closely with others for developing improvements and modification to the tools.
• Must be able to work with sales and tool design departments with the purpose of assuring that new tools have been designed to run efficiently on WNA equipment.
• Must be able to work closely with the Process Engineers, lead people, maintenance, operators and packers with the goal of minimizing set-up time, maximizing production efficiency and eliminating scrap.
• Ability to make any and all adjustments to the machines as it relates to the set-up of the tooling in to production.
