Job summary

Novolex is seeking a maintenance technician in Yakima, WA to perform preventative maintenance on packaging equipment. The role runs a 4‑day alternating weekend schedule with shifts starting at 5 AM and pays $26.44 to $30.44 per hour plus benefits.

Required are 3+ years in manufacturing maintenance, high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read blueprints. Injection molding or extrusion experience is preferred; own tools are helpful and company provides specialty tools as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with injection molding or extrusion preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with packaging equipment desired.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints is strongly desired.
• Own tools preferred; company provides specialty tools if needed.
• Good communication skills with supervision and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform activities on equipment and machines, reassemble after repair.

• Inspect or test damaged parts and advise on repairs.

Job Description:

• Perform various activities on equipment and machines including reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work;
• Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems;
• Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs;
• Lubricate or apply other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures;
• Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications;
• Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance;
• Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools.
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Candidate should have 3+ years of Maintenance experience within a manufacturing organization.
• Prior Injection Molding or Extrusion preferred
• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience with Packaging Equipment is desired
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic and mechanical system and machinery
• Ability to read blueprints strongly desired
• Should have own tools; company will provide additional specialty tools if necessary.
• Proficient with Computers is a plus
• Good communication skills are required to communicate with supervision and other departments.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $26.44 - 30.44 site performance based bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
