Job summary

PPG in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking an Aerospace Tooling Technician for dayshift (6:00AM-2:30PM). Starting pay is $28.44/hour, with eligibility constraints noted in the posting. This role focuses on maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of aerospace tooling and related equipment.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, calibration, ordering parts, and documenting modifications. Ideal candidates have 4–5 years tooling experience, welding and machining skills, lathe/milling

Qualifications

• Experience with tooling maintenance and calibration.
• 4–5 years tooling experience preferred.
• Experience with welding and machining.
• Experience with lathe and milling machines and CNC for metal.

Responsibilities

• Determining and performing required maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, aligning/adjusting parts, calibrating, etc.).
• Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing machines and equipment.
• Ordering and Installing replacement parts.
• Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g. mechanical and electrical).
• Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, and yield.
• Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
• Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

• Determining and performing required maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, aligning/adjusting parts, calibrating, etc.).
• Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing machines and equipment.
• Ordering and Installing replacement parts.
• Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g. mechanical and electrical).

• Preferred Tooling Experience of 4 to 5 years.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and tools.
• Ability to push/pull 51 lbs. or more.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods
