Job summary

AAA-USA Inc. is seeking a Tooling Technician willing to travel or relocate to Kinston, NC for hands-on installation, repair, and maintenance of precision tooling and industrial equipment.

The role emphasizes preventive care, troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineering and vendors. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of aerospace tooling or precision machining experience, strong mechanical troubleshooting, and the ability to safely move heavy tooling and equipment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years aerospace tooling or precision machining experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs, and repairs industrial machinery according to plans.
  • Dismantles equipment using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and hand tools.
  • Moves machinery using hoists, dollies and trucks.
  • Assembles and installs equipment such as conveyors and tram rails.
  • Constructs foundations; aligns machines; performs scheduled inspections.
  • Operates machine tools to rework or make parts.
  • Performs root cause analysis to solve equipment problems with cross-functional teams.
  • Reworks and maintains tools of all types and materials.
  • Performs routine minor machine maintenance including lubrication and basic upkeep.
  • Repairs and builds lay-up tools.

The Tooling Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, alignment, and modification of precision tooling, jigs, molds, fixtures, and industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.
  • Dismantles equipment and machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
  • Moves machinery and equipment using hoist, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Assembles and installs equipment such as conveyors and tram rails using hand and power tools.
  • Constructs foundations; aligns machines; performs scheduled inspection and maintenance.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework or make new parts.
  • Perform root/cause analysis in support reliability processes, and collaborate with vendors, engineering, team leader, customer, other crafts and management to solve equipment problems and develop corrective action.
  • Rework and maintain tools of all types and materials.
  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties (e.g. replacing machine filters, changing standard light bulbs on machines and equipment, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels etc., as related to basic tool preventative maintenance duties).
  • Repairing and building lay-up tools
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 3+ years of aerospace tooling or precision machining experience.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to safely move and position heavy tooling and equipment.
