Job summary

The Tooling Technician at Röchling Automotive Akron, OH, will maintain, repair, and troubleshoot molds and tooling to support production operations. You will perform preventive maintenance, read schematics, and assist with projects, while upholding safety and ISO standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on tooling and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Read and interpret mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic schematics.
• Plan, execute, and follow up on mold repairs.
• Maintain maintenance schedules for molds and secondary equipment.
• Design, maintain, and repair fixtures and jigs.
• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.
• Submit remote work order requests and maintain shift logs.
• Support tooling cost control and asset management.
• Assist supervisors with projects and daily activities.
• Support special projects as assigned.
• Maintain knowledge of ISO 14001, IATF 16949, CSR requirements through training.

Job Summary

The Tooling Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting molds, tooling, fixtures, and related equipment to support production operations. This role performs preventive and predictive maintenance, mold repairs, fabrication, and technical troubleshooting while ensuring quality, safety, and environmental standards are met.

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance procedures on all tooling and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Plan, execute, and follow up on mold repairs.
• Maintain mold, secondary equipment, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Design, maintain, and repair fixtures and jigs as required.
• Perform welding and fabrication work when needed.
• Submit remote work order requests and maintain accurate shift logs.
• Support tooling cost control, asset management, and budget requirements.
• Assist the Tooling Supervisor and Tooling Manager with projects and daily activities.
• Support special projects as assigned.
• Maintain knowledge of ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements (CSR) through training and work experience.
