Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Tool Quality Engineer to support tool quality teams in Clearfield, Utah and Iuka, Mississippi. The role may be filled at Level 2 or Level 3, with responsibilities to evaluate tool designs, ensure manufacturability, and maintain tool history data.

The candidate should have a STEM degree, 3–5 years of experience, ISO 9001/AS9100 knowledge, GD&T, and ability to read engineering drawings. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or STEM.
• 3+ years of manufacturing or quality assurance experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI/AMSE Y14.5) techniques.
• Ability to interpret Engineering Drawings.
• Experience with measurement tools like Laser tracker is a plus.
• MS Office proficiency.
• U.S. Citizenship required for employment.
• Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate tool designs for compliance to industry dimension and tolerancing standards.
• Evaluate design to determine manufacturability to produce a functional tool.
• Create and provide accurate Tool Inspection Records meeting engineering requirements.
• Concur with tooling review board dispositions for non-conformances.
• Coordinate non-conformance history and communicate trends.
• Support tooling nonconformance analysis and related processes.
• Review supplier data package for accuracy.
• Maintain accurate tool history data packets.
• Interact with Tool engineering, inspection, operations, and design teams.
