Job Title Tooling Production Technician – 1st Shift

Department Tooling

Reports To Roger Tackett Jr., Tooling Manager

FLSA Non-Exempt

Location Hamilton, OH

Pay Scale $30/hr

Summary

We are looking for a skilled CNC machinist/operator to set up, maintain, and operate CNC machinery. Tooling is manufactured with close tolerances of +/- 0.0004”. The ability to measure and determine tooling accuracy is required. You will work closely with the 1st and 2nd shift employees to manufacture and close customer orders. You will work with other technicians to prioritize workload. Some equipment setup will be required to manufacture various types of tooling. Some light mechanical repair of the machinery will be required, such as air leaks, hydraulic leaks, coolant leaks, etc. Equipment basic preventative maintenance will be required when due, such as filter changes, cleaning up the machinery, etc.

Training:

Duration: 10 to 12 weeks

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5:00pm

Shift:

Primary Shift Post-Training: 6:00am – 2:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and operate CNC equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance of production equipment.
  • Maintain inventory levels on consumables/shop supplies.
  • Interpret internal work orders for punch tooling created for our customers.
  • Assist other technicians with programming/troubleshooting.
  • Read and interpret customers and company created mechanical 2D tooling drawings.
  • Program/troubleshoot custom tooling using CAD/CAM software.
  • Use precision measuring tools, calipers, micrometer & dial indicator, to 0.0001” or 0.025mm.
  • Perform weekly maintenance checks on machinery
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
  • Minimum 5 years experience operating/programming CNC equipment.
  • CNC Experience
    • General CNC machine operation and setup experience
    • OD grinder programming and operation
    • Wire EDM programming and operation
    • Sinker EDM programming and operation
    • Ability to program and trouble shoot programs and CAD/CAM software
  • Proficiency in 2D AutoCad
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic computer experience, Outlook Email, Excel, Word.
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Good math skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner as well as skillfully gather and analyze information.
  • Strong eye for detail and maintaining exacting standards.
  • Effectively work with others, sound verbal/written communication with supervisor/manager and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Basic CNC equipment preventative maintenance and repair.
