Job summary

USF seeks a Tooling Supervisor to oversee the tooling group, supervise shop-floor associates, and coordinate mold repair activities to sustain productivity and quality. The role drives efficiency, safety, and adherence to budgets while supporting three shifts as needed.

The ideal candidate will have extensive tooling experience in manufacturing, strong technical and mechanical aptitude, and proven supervisory skills to lead a tool room team toward optimal plant performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of tooling experience in manufacturing (plastics or automotive preferred).
• 3+ years supervisory experience in tooling.
• Excellent technical and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise all associates in the tool room while working on the shop floor.
• Coordinate tooling repair activity to meet plant quality and schedule requirements.
• Direct plant tool repair activity to meet plant efficiency and utilization targets.
• Control outside tool repair costs as much as possible.
• Maintain performance to Tool Room budget while working with Process Eng. Manager.
• Troubleshoot issues on new and existing processes.
• Develop a measurement tool to ensure output matches staffing.
• Provide support across all three shifts.
• Oversee and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws.
• Plan, assign and direct work; Appraise direct reports.
• Address complaints and resolve problems within tooling department; guide repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair molds, providing hands-on guidance.
