Job summary

Honda Development & Manufacturing of America in Marysville, OH is seeking a Tooling & Die Design Engineer (CAD) to lead die and mold designs for North American automotive mass production, generating detailed 3D CAD models and coordinating with tooling builders.

The role focuses on translating drawings into robust tooling, investigating tooling issues, and supporting on-site installation and commissioning of new dies and molds in production presses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or Associate with 3+ years experience).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software and engineering blueprint reading.
• Solid understanding of metal stamping or plastic injection molding tooling mechanics.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% including international trips to machine builders.

Responsibilities

• Design industrial stamping dies and injection molds utilizing CAD software.
• Translate component drawings and customer specifications into robust tooling constructions.
• Investigate tooling failures, analyze wear patterns, and engineer permanent countermeasures.

• Follow tooling fabrication at external die/mold suppliers, conducting design reviews and buyoffs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or Associate with 3+ years experience).
• 0-2 years of die/mold design or tooling engineering experience (co‑op experience preferred).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software and engineering blueprint reading.
• Solid understanding of metal stamping or plastic injection molding tooling mechanics.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% including international trips to machine builders.
