Job Summary

Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Tooling Manufacturing Supervisor at our Engines Products - Cleveland Operations Tempcraft facility. The supervisor is the first level of authority in the Tooling Business Center, providing leadership, coaching, and clear direction to ensure safety, customer demand, problem-solving, waste elimination, and goal achievement.

This is a 3rd shift position working Monday-Friday 9:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.; flexibility and availability to adjust hours, including weekends, is required. The Operations Manager will work with the candidate to ensure a good work-life balance.

Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks, and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings, and hot isostatic pressing for high-performance parts that enable quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.

Responsibilities

• Directs manufacturing, processing, or support areas to meet quality, output, and delivery goals.
• Prepares daily production reports and participates in daily production meetings.
• Sets and ensures achievement of daily production and quality goals in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
• Completes timekeeping for hourly associates daily.
• Schedules shifts, approves overtime, vacations, and personnel requests with management approval.
• Ensures associates take breaks and lunches within required times.
• Plans short- and long-term department requirements and interfaces with other departments to meet goals.
• Monitors shop floor productivity and promotes teamwork, coaching, and counseling.
• Ensures compliance with company policies, environmental, and safety policies.
• Monitors material inventory and collaborates with Procurement to support production schedules.
• Provides leadership, direction, and motivation to associates.
• Works with Team Leads to develop and implement training plans for operators, including cross-training for resource optimization.
• Implements Howmet Business System initiatives, including 5S, standardized work, and process improvements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing
• At least 5 years of management or supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman Tool & Die Maker
• Experience in investment casting industry
• Leadership in a tool and die manufacturing environment
• Experience with CNC equipment, die assembly, wax and plastic injection processes, lathes, wire EDM, CNC machining
