Job Description As Tooling Manager for Data Center Site Deployment, you will manage the tooling, equipment, inventory, and readiness processes that support OCI data center deployment activities. This individual contributor role ensures deployment teams have the right tools, kits, materials, records, and controls to execute safely and consistently across new sites, expansions, retrofits, and customer‑driven deployment programs.
You will partner with Site Deployment, Logistics, Asset Management, Construction, Operations, Procurement, vendors, and site teams to standardize tooling practices and reduce execution friction. The role requires strong organization, practical field judgment, asset control discipline, and a bias for clear tracking and repeatable processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage tooling readiness for assigned site deployment programs, including tool kits, specialty equipment, consumables, calibration needs, and staging requirements.
- Maintain accurate tooling inventories, assignment records, condition checks, readiness trackers, and deployment support documentation.
- Coordinate with deployment managers, logistics teams, site operations, vendors, and procurement to ensure tools are available when needed.
- Develop standard tooling lists, site deployment kits, replenishment triggers, storage expectations, and control processes.
- Support tool issue resolution when missing, damaged, uncalibrated, delayed, or improperly staged equipment could impact deployment schedules.
- Partner with Asset Management and Logistics to align tooling records, ownership, barcoding, transfer, storage, and lifecycle processes.
- Track tool movement across sites, vendors, staging areas, and deployment teams to improve accountability and reduce loss.
- Support receiving, inspection, labeling, storage, checkout, return, and disposal processes for deployment tooling.
- Identify tooling gaps, recurring failure points, standardization opportunities, and cost or schedule risks.
- Prepare status updates, issue logs, action registers, and readiness summaries for deployment leadership.
- Ensure tooling processes support safety, security, access control, audit readiness, and site‑specific operating requirements.
- Contribute to deployment playbooks, lessons learned, templates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of experience in tooling, logistics, asset management, warehouse operations, deployment support, data center operations, construction support, or technical program coordination.

- Working knowledge of data center deployment, construction, critical facilities, telecom, manufacturing, or infrastructure environments.
- Ability to coordinate across vendors, procurement, logistics, site teams, deployment managers, and operational stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, construction management, or a technical field.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong execution discipline with attention to inventory accuracy, readiness, and follow‑through.
- Ability to create simple, repeatable processes that improve field productivity and accountability.
- Good judgment in balancing deployment urgency, safety, tool condition, and control requirements.
- Clear communication with field teams, vendors, and cross‑functional partners.
- Comfort working in fast‑moving environments with shifting site priorities and deployment schedules.
- Continuous improvement mindset focused on eliminating delays, rework, and process variation.
Preferred Skills / Certifications
- Experience with CMMS, inventory systems, asset tracking tools, barcode/RFID processes, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with data center rack deployment, site deployment, logistics, construction closeout, or operational readiness.
- Lean, Six Sigma, supply chain, logistics, OSHA, or project management certification.
- Experience coordinating calibrated tools, specialty equipment, critical spares, or deployment kits.
- Experience supporting hyperscale data centers, telecom, utilities, critical manufacturing, or other technical field operations.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
