Job description

Job Description
Role Overview

As Senior Site Deployment Manager, Site Deployment, you will lead a team responsible for OCI data center site deployment execution, including new builds, expansions, retrofits, rack deployment, infrastructure readiness, and operational transition activities. This manager-level role converts deployment requirements, portfolio priorities, and site readiness milestones into coordinated execution plans that enable safe, predictable, and operationally ready capacity delivery. You will manage deployment managers, project coordinators, and cross-functional execution routines while partnering closely with Construction, Commissioning, Engineering, Network, Security, Data Center Operations, Logistics, Asset Management, Customer Experience, vendors, and site leadership. The role requires strong people leadership, project management discipline, field execution judgment, and the ability to drive accountability across teams that may not report directly into the deployment function. This is a site and regional deployment leadership role. You will be accountable for deployment execution quality, readiness governance, issue resolution, team performance, and clean handoff to operations across assigned sites or programs, while helping scale consistent playbooks, dashboards, and operating mechanisms for the broader deployment organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Site Deployment function across assigned sites, campuses, regions, or complex deployment programs, ensuring work is executed safely, predictably, and in alignment with OCI capacity and operational readiness commitments.
  • Manage and develop deployment managers, project coordinators, and senior individual contributors responsible for deployment planning, readiness tracking, field coordination, risk management, and turnover execution.
  • Own deployment execution plans, milestones, readiness gates, risk logs, action registers, dependency trackers, dashboards, and leadership status reporting for assigned deployment scope.
  • Coordinate across Construction, Commissioning, Engineering, Network, Security, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, vendors, and site leadership to align schedules, remove blockers, and maintain deployment momentum.
  • Translate deployment requirements into field-ready schedules, owner-based action plans, acceptance criteria, handoff requirements, and operational readiness checklists.
  • Drive resolution of deployment blockers related to access, safety, space readiness, power and cooling readiness, materials, tooling, documentation, change windows, site constraints, and operational procedures.
  • Govern readiness reviews, deployment meetings, issue-resolution sessions, handoff reviews, lessons learned, and recurring leadership reporting rhythms.
  • Ensure turnover readiness by validating commissioning evidence, deployment prerequisites, inventory readiness, trained support coverage, documentation completeness, system activation, and open-item ownership.
  • Serve as an escalation point for deployment risks that may impact safety, schedule, capacity delivery, customer commitments, security, or day‑one operational supportability.
  • Maintain executive‑ready summaries that clearly communicate schedule health, risk exposure, open decisions, blocker ownership, recovery actions, and recommended paths forward.
  • Identify recurring deployment process gaps and improve playbooks, templates, dashboards, readiness standards, governance routines, and cross‑functional operating mechanisms.
  • Build a high‑accountability team culture focused on safety, clear communication, operational excellence, predictable delivery, continuous improvement, and strong partnership with site operations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 10+ years of experience in technical project management, data center deployment, mission‑critical infrastructure operations, construction turnover, commissioning, cloud capacity delivery, utilities, telecom, colocation, or similarly complex infrastructure environments.
  • 3–5+ years of people leadership experience managing deployment managers, technical project managers, program managers, project coordinators, or cross‑functional infrastructure delivery teams.
  • Experience leading deployment or readiness execution across multiple sites, large campuses, complex expansion programs, or high‑visibility infrastructure delivery portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of site readiness, construction‑to‑operations handoff, commissioning support, rack deployment, network turn‑up, access controls, logistics, operational procedures, and turnover requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, dependencies, issue logs, risk trackers, readiness gates, dashboards, and executive‑level status reporting in a fast‑moving operational environment.
  • Proven ability to influence Engineering, Construction, Operations, Network, Security, Logistics, vendors, and site leadership without direct authority over every stakeholder.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong manager‑level deployment leadership across schedule, scope, risks, issues, dependencies, readiness governance, stakeholder communications, and team accountability.
  • Operational judgement with the ability to balance deployment speed, safety, quality, site constraints, security, cost, and customer commitments.
  • Ability to lead teams through ambiguity, establish structure, clarify ownership, and maintain execution discipline in fast‑changing environments.
  • Strong cross‑functional influence and escalation discipline, including the ability to align stakeholders around risks, decisions, tradeoffs, and recovery plans.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including concise leadership reporting, executive summaries, and decision‑oriented escalation materials.
  • Talent development capability, including coaching managers and individual contributors, raising communication quality, and strengthening deployment readiness standards.
  • Continuous improvement mindset focused on repeatable deployment standards, predictable outcomes, reduced rework, and scalable operating mechanisms.
Preferred Skills / Certifications
  • Experience operating in hyperscale data center environments, cloud infrastructure delivery organizations, colocation, telecom, utilities, high‑availability facilities, or large‑scale hardware deployment functions.
  • Experience with Smartsheet, Primavera, MS Project, Jira, ServiceNow, CMMS, DCIM, BMS, EPMS, SCADA, asset management, deployment tracking, ERP/MRP, or executive reporting platforms.
  • Familiarity with data center power, cooling, network, physical security, rack deployment, commissioning evidence, MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, change management, and operational readiness documentation.
  • Experience creating or governing deployment playbooks, readiness checklists, dashboards, turnover standards, lessons‑learned loops, and deployment quality controls.
  • PMP, PgMP, Lean, Six Sigma, OSHA, commissioning, construction management, or equivalent technical/program leadership certification.
  • Experience managing third‑party contractors, deployment vendors, integrators, commissioning partners, managed service providers, or technical service partners.
Physical Demands / Work Environment

This is a mission‑critical leadership role supporting data center deployment and 24/7 operations where safety, uptime, security, and execution quality are essential. The role operates across office, remote collaboration, construction, deployment, and active data center environments and may require travel to assigned sites, campuses, regions, or deployment programs. Site visits may involve walking large facilities, standing for extended periods, using stairs, observing field activities, and following all safety, PPE, security, and access‑control requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation. Schedule flexibility may be required during major deployment milestones, escalations, readiness events, or operational handoffs.

Qualifications
